Tim Hortons now offers Interac® Debit system across Canada

Interac provides additional form of electronic payment at participating restaurants

Canadians no longer need to fumble for change when buying their favourite coffee and baked goods. This month, Tim Hortons will complete a nationwide roll-out of Interac's Debit payment system to all restaurants already accepting other electronic forms of payment such as Tim Card®.

"From new product innovation to the introduction of new payment methods such as Interac Debit, Tim Hortons' hospitality focuses on continuous improvement and bringing more value and convenient choices to our guests," said Roland Walton, Chief Operations Officer, Tim Hortons.  "We are proud to partner with a world-class Canadian payment network like Interac and Chase PaymentechT, a global leader in payment processing, to bring even more choice and convenience to our valued guests."

Tim Hortons began accepting debit cards in Western provinces in 2003 and after much research to ensure speed of service would not be affected and security would not be compromised, decided to expand the payment method to all restaurants set-up for electronic payments.  Today, approximately 90 per cent of Tim Hortons' over 3,000 locations across Canada offer Interac.
