Buy A Coffee and Help Send a Kid to Camp

Camp Day - FireCamp Day Fundraiser on Wednesday, May 24th

Wednesday, May 24th is Tim Hortons annual Camp Day, the single largest fundraiser for the Tim Horton Children's Foundation. Buy a coffee on this day and help to give economically disadvantaged children from your community an experience they'll never forget!

"This is much more than a typical camping experience for selected local children," said Keith Publicover, Executive Director, Tim Horton Children's Foundation. "Our Foundation is committed to the future of these young people; to helping them develop the skills and self-esteem that will benefit them throughout their lives."

On Camp Day, all Tim Hortons stores donate their coffee sales for the 24-hour period, as well as funds raised through other events and activities, to the Children's Foundation. In 1999, Camp Day raised $2.75 million (CDN), and more than 6,000 children benefited from a camp experience. The Children's Foundation currently operates four camps across Canada. This year, the Children's Foundation has acquired a second camp in Ontario, which will eventually allow even more teens to take part in the Tracking Program. A sixth camp, and the first outside Canada, is targeted to open in Campbellsville, Kentucky in 2001.

"The Tracking Program brings back past participants aged 13 to 18 for an opportunity to further build their leadership skills and self-confidence," said Publicover. "This program will allow us to follow and assist with some of these children's progress right through to university or college."
