Years ago, driving through Canada one morning, I was perplexed by a line of cars stopped on the side of the road. As I got closer, I realized they were waiting to get into the parking lot of Tim Hortons. "What's the big deal?!" I thought and drove on, shaking my head. Then two years ago a friend mentioned the B.E.L.T. Her description intrigued me and a few days later I drove through and ordered. I was hooked! A soft bagel, lightly toasted, thick fresh slice of tomato, dark-green lettuce, crisp bacon...mmmm. And to add to my excitement, (call me a geek, but I'm telling the honest truth about being excited) I received my bagel in a simple paper wrapper, and my fresh, delicious coffee in a paper cup. No styrofoam, no excess packaging. And...the service was wonderful! So friendly and welcoming. I have, on more than one occasion, taken photos with my phone and texted the "food art" to friends in order to convince them to try Tim Hortons for themselves. Yes, I admit it, I am a "foodie", and Tim Hortons tickles my epigastric, service and eco-friendly fancy!
